Introduction

 

FANG MAE KHONG (Listen to the Mekong) International dance festival, a festival of contemporary dance open to artists all over the world.

 

This festival has been created by the Dance companies Fanglao (Laos) & Kham (France) in 2010 in Vientiane, in the aim to develop the practice of contemporary dance in Laos. The festival supports the development of local artists and promote cultural exchanges between local and international artists from different dance forms. It presents performances, workshops, films, talks, and outreach community program.

 

In 2018, FMK festival started artistic partnership with others dance festivals in Asia such as New Dance for Asia NDA festival in Seoul, Cont.Act festival in Singapore, Want to Dance festival in Taïwan and Odoru-Akita International Dance Festival in Japan.
