Introduction
FANG MAE KHONG (Listen to the Mekong) International dance festival, a festival of contemporary dance open to artists all over the world.
This festival has been created by the Dance companies Fanglao (Laos) & Kham (France) in 2010 in Vientiane, in the aim to develop the practice of contemporary dance in Laos. The festival supports the development of local artists and promote cultural exchanges between local and international artists from different dance forms. It presents performances, workshops, films, talks, and outreach community program.
In 2018, FMK festival started artistic partnership with others international dance festivals around the word and especially in Asia : Want to Dance Festival (Taiwan), ​​Cont.Act Festival (Singapore), Festival Ca Danse ! (France), New Dance for Asia (South Korea), Hong Kong Dance X Change (Hong Kong), Odoru Akita international dance Festival (Japan), Zawirowania Festival (Poland), 1000 Cranes Kurge (Estonia), Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival (Israel). The aim is to facilitate and encourage the mobitlity of the artists and their performances.
